The first thing we need to do to prepare our app for release is remove any Log method calls. In this video we'll see how to easily do this with a tool called ProGuard.
ProGuard lines for copy/paste:
-assumenosideeffects class android.util.Log { public static boolean isLoggable(java.lang.String, int); public static int v(...); public static int i(...); public static int w(...); public static int d(...); public static int e(...); }
Notes
If you are familiar with publishing apps that were built using Eclipse, you may be wondering about the android:debuggable
attribute in the manifest. Android Studio adds this flag automatically based on the build type. For a release build, this is set to false for us, so we donβt need to do anything. Read more here.
