[MUSIC] 0:00 Hey, what's up? 0:09 My name is Dustin and I'm a developer here at Treehouse. 0:10 You've probably heard a lot about AI recently. 0:12 It's growing massively in popularity lately and 0:14 one of the biggest names in AI right now is ChatGPT. 0:17 But what is ChatGPT and what is AI? 0:21 Let's break both of those down a little bit. 0:24 AI, or artificial intelligence, is the field of computer science that focuses on 0:26 creating machines that can perform tasks that usually require human intelligence. 0:30 These tasks can include recognizing speech, making decisions, or 0:35 even solving problems. 0:39 AI algorithms are designed to learn from data and 0:41 improve their performance over time. 0:43 In other words, AI is about creating intelligent machines that can think and 0:46 learn just like humans. 0:49 So, what types of AI are out there? 0:51 Well, there are mainly two types of AI, narrow and general. 0:54 Narrow AI refers to machines that are designed to perform a specific task or 0:58 set of tasks, like speech recognition or image classification. 1:03 On the other hand, general AI refers to machines that can perform any intellectual 1:07 task that a human can. 1:11 However, general AI is still a long way off and is still in the research phase. 1:13 Okay, so now we kind of have the basics down of AI. 1:18 So what exactly is ChatGPT? 1:20 Well, ChatGPT is a language model created by a company called OpenAI that uses 1:23 natural language processing to generate human-like responses to text input. 1:28 Basically what that means is ChatGPT can understand the language you type or speak, 1:34 and it can reply in a way that sounds like a human. 1:38 ChatGPT is one of the most advanced language models currently available, and 1:41 it can be used for various applications such as chatbots, language translation, 1:45 and even content generation. 1:49 So how does ChatGPT work exactly? 1:52 Well, it's actually pretty simple. 1:54 When you ask ChatGPT a question, it uses a process called natural language processing 1:56 to analyze your question and understand the context and meaning behind it. 2:01 Then it searches through a massive database of knowledge to find the best 2:05 answer for your question. 2:08 ChatGPT is constantly learning and updating its knowledge, 2:11 which means it can provide increasingly accurate and relevant answers over time. 2:14 In fact, the more you use ChatGPT, the better it gets. 2:18 One of the things that makes ChatGPT so 2:21 powerful is its ability to understand context. 2:23 This means that it can take into account things like the tone of your question or 2:26 any previous interactions you've had with it to provide an even more personalized 2:30 response. 2:33 Overall ChatGPT is an incredibly sophisticated tool if you know how to 2:35 use it correctly. 2:39 I hope this quick guide on AI was super helpful for you and 2:40 you're not as intimidated as you were before starting this video. 2:42 Be on the lookout for 2:46 some new content where we build some pretty awesome stuff using AI. 2:47 Until then have fun and happy coding. 2:50
