A variable in another function called l can be passed as a parameter in another function?

I don't know where the text parameter come from?

I assume you're asking about the parameter named "text" used by the createLI function. It comes from the place in the code where createLI is called, and then inside the createLI function it is passed to the createElement function.

Function arguments work just like variables inside the function, and can be passed along to other functions.
