CSS CSS Basics (2014) Enhancing the Design With CSS Text Shadows and Box Shadows

stage 6 challenge task 4 of 4

Challenge Task 4 of 4

Let's give .main-header an inner-shadow with a second set of box-shadow values. Set the new shadow's horizontal and vertical offsets to 0, the blur radius to 60px, the spread radius to 5px, and the color to firebrick. Don't forget to include the keyword value that creates an inner box shadow.

style.css
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
.main-heading {
  text-shadow: 0 0 5px #be7b31;
}
.title {
  text-shadow: 1px 3px 0 #e59740;
}
.main-header {
  box-shadow: 0 2px 15px #aaa;
  box-shadow:inset 0 60px 5px firebrick;
}
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <header id="top" class="main-header">
      <span class="title">Journey Through the Sierra Nevada Mountains</span>
      <h1 class="main-heading">Lake Tahoe, California</h1>
    </header>

        <div class="primary-content">
            <p class="intro">

I tried doing it in multiple lines, and it wouldn't pass me. But it passed me when I set it up the way Sherly Chan did (in one line):

main-header { box-shadow: 0 2px 15px #aaa, inset 0 0 60px 5px firebrick; }

See Code below. You need only one box-shadow properties separated by a comma

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
.main-heading {
  text-shadow: 0 0 5px #be7b31;
}
.title {
  text-shadow: 1px 3px 0 #e59740;
}
.main-header {
  box-shadow: 0 2px 15px #aaa,
              inset 0 0 60px 5px firebrick;
}

any particular question with setting inner shadows? You may be missing one offset (vertical).

.main-header { box-shadow: 0px 2px 15px #aaa; box-shadow: inset 0 0 60px 5px firebrick; }

.main-header { box-shadow: 0 2px 15px #aaa, inset 0 0 60px 5px firebrick; }

I don't recall learning the syntax (a comma) of entering a 2nd set of values. But, it's probably my brain. (lol) Now we know.

.main-header { box-shadow: 0 2px 15px #aaa, 0 0 60px 5px firebrick inset;
}
