I'm having trouble really understanding them can someone possibly say it or explain it in a different way?

231,248 PointsWith auto-commit, any operation you perform changes the database right away.
But without it, or in a transaction, you can think of things you do as just "trial" operations. You can try things out and see what the result might be, but the database itself (and what anyone else might see) isn't changed until you perform the commit.
