WordPress

Before I completely give up

in the beginning he talks a lot about coping files here to there and edit this file and move this file, change colors in CSS and do all these thing that I thought was going to be easy in wordpress. To me its starting to seem that it is more work than normal HTML and CSS.

does this course ever get into making a site using just wordpress? I just lost all motivation for wordpress

Sorry for the comment above I accidentally hit the button. You are really going to want to know php before diving into wordpress. You will get into making a site however it is more of making a custom site instead of an off of the shelf template which is really easy to do. HTML and CSS are way easier than making a custom wordpress template in my opinion. Don't give up, you will find things to be very hard and frustrating and then all of a sudden you get the so called aha moment and everything becomes clear!

That's what I figured. I decided to stop for awhile and watch some shows

I know quite a bit of php and other languages and found the wordpress course to be frustrating myself! Just do some of the other courses then come back to it. Good luck!

Hang in there! You'll have to know a some of PHP but it's worth it. I LOVE wordpress and the codex is a great place to start looking around to get an idea of what it's like to develop for it. I think wordpress now powers like over 20% of websites on the web or something like that. It's always being updated and big corporations are using it. It's here to stay and learning worpdress can open the doors for work down the road if you're looking for it.

Good luck!
