Binkiland Virus during FileZilla FTP download

I was trying to download my FTP, FileZilla, and I ended up downloading a virus called Binkiland. That ruined my computer, and I had to restore it. Is there a way I can use an alternative, safer, FTP solution? Was there a special way to download it?... Thanks

Where did you download from? it sounds like you went to the wrong place and got tricked into downloading malicious software. I think we would hear about a major vulnerability in Filezilla download if this was the case.

If you're on Windows, you can try out WinSCP, I really think it's the best FTP/SCP client for Windows.
