Python Regular Expressions in Python Introduction to Regular Expressions Email Groups

Bummer! Didn't get a regex search object

I have tried this several different ways, including copying and pasting the working code from the videos into this challenge and it's the same error every time.

I am sure it's silly, but I'm baffled why I keep getting the same error.

emails.py
import re

string = '''Love, Kenneth, kenneth+challenge@teamtreehouse.com, 555-555-5555, @kennethlove
Chalkley, Andrew, andrew@teamtreehouse.co.uk, 555-555-5556, @chalkers
McFarland, Dave, dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com, 555-555-5557, @davemcfarland
Kesten, Joy, joy@teamtreehouse.com, 555-555-5558, @joykesten'''

contacts = re.search(r"""
                    (?P<email>[-\w\d.+]+@[-\w\d.]+)\t
                    (?P<phone>\(?\d{3}\)?-?\s?\d{3}-\d{4})\t
""",string,re.X)

Include a comma and whitespace instead of the tab after the first group like this:

(?P<email>[-\w\d+.]+@[-\w\d.]+),\s

Also, remove the tab after the second group. It's useless.

In the video, the names.txt file has all the different pieces of data seperated by whitespace only. In the challenge, there are commas seperating the data and you need to include them.

Ha. I knew it was something silly that I was missing. Thank you very much
