Changing from local to live

I just finished watching the course of converting a local site into a live site. But my question is now that my website is on the live side, how do I edit the local site because it says 'error establishing connection' and then upload it to the live side again?

Well moving it from local to live, shouldn't affect the local site. Ensure your local server is up and running. At the same time, the changes you should be making after uploading to live is minimal, so why not just make the changes on live? http://your-domain/wp-admin/
