Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Raise an Exception

Code not working

Hi there

Why doesn't this code work?

def suggest(product_idea): if product_idea <= 3: raise ValueError("Product idea needs more characters") return product_idea + "inator"

Kind regards

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    if product_idea <= 3:
        raise ValueError("Product idea needs more characters")
    return product_idea + "inator"

Try to change:

if product_idea <= 3:
to if len(product_idea) <= 3:

You first need to get the length of the String before you can compare it to 3
