13,833 PointsWhen you add single quotes around the variable name you confuse the PHP Compiler, because he doesnt read the piece in the quotes as a variable, but rather as content. Ofc there is an exception if you add double quotes the PHP compiler would read the inside of the quotes as content but would substitute all the variable names that it sees. So technically you can have two solutions, which I attach bellow.
$fullName = "$firstName" . " " ."$lastName";
<?php
//Place your code below this comment
$firstName = 'Rasmus';
$lastName = 'Lerdorf';
$fullName = $firstName . " " .$lastName;
echo $fullName;
?>
?>

10,050 Pointsyou don't need qoutes for string in $fullName. You would write the last piece of code like this $fullName = $firstName . $lastName ;
