Critiques/advices/opinions on my Wordpress Theme.

Hello everyone!

A fellow Romanian student here. I'd like to start by saying that I'm following Zac Gordon's advice on posting here on the forum the progress of my project and I would REALLY APPRECIATE if you could spend some time to give me some critiques/advices/opinions on my currently still in development Wordpress theme, built with Bootstrap, FontAwesome and Masonry(jQuery plugin).

I'd also like to mention that I intend to sell this theme on themeforest when it will meet the standars requested there and when it will have enough features. Oh, and I must say I didn't quite reinvent the wheel and some of my inspiration came from other themes like the twentyfourteen wordpress theme and also a bit from Mashable.

I'm still a begginer in Wordpress theme development but I learned a lot by doing and building my own project, now I just hope I could also get some money from it so I can keep studying here on treehouse :)

I would also appreciate if I could get Zac's own oppinion, but nonetheless Thank You very much everyone and hope you have an awesome day.

Hey all!

Congrats on your theme :)

  • Looks great!
  • Notice that the little default WP :) is still in the footer (http://cl.ly/YjGV)
  • Check the styling for what the theme looks like when you search for a static page instead of a post (http://cl.ly/Yj9e)
  • Do you have an option for being able to add a logo into the header?

Again great site and good luck with getting it sold!!! Remember, just by throwing it up on a marketplace doesn't mean it will sell. You should start thinking through your marketing campaign now as well :)

Hey Zac, Thank You for the kind words and I have to say that I learned a lot from your courses which really opened a lot of doors for me.

Also about your mentions:

  • I managed to remove the smiley face after a quick search on google.
  • I'll work the styles for the static page out as soon as posible.
  • And currently working on the logo option for header and footer.

As of that I still have a lot of features to add and I'm also working on the marketing of it at the same time.

Again thank you and I really appreciate your reply, means alot to me and motivates me on sticking with my dream :)
