Is it better to custom build your wordpress sites or start with the Genesis template?
I like the Idea of custom building sites like Zac has shown in the wordpress theme development course. But will clients be ok with that.
What about the seo and security that Genesis offers.
Are you limited with Genesis themes in their layout options..they all seem to look the same( thats just a first impression though, I have never used it).
If people have any experience with both custom building and genesis that would be great.

25,278 PointsGenesis is mainly a framework for building wordpress sites with it's own SEO. It also serves as a development platform with child themes. So it's not a bad choice if you are planning on getting a solid website out quickly. However if you really want to get custom with your themes Zac created the development track so you can do as such. As for security it's really good and uploading revisions of the site are really quick. If you are looking to use Genesis of course, make sure you develop a few wordpress sites before fully immersing yourself in Genesis like all different frameworks.
