Custom fields in Wordpress?

I've started working "How to Make a WordPress Blog" but couldn't find any material related to "custom fields" in Wordpress. Anyone point me the right spot?

We don't actually cover custom fields in the How to Make a WordPress Blog series. However, we do go into depth on it in the first stage of the How to Build a WordPress Theme videos.
