declare a message variable

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong

let firstName = ("ALiyah");
let lastName = ("Flowers");
let role = 'developer'; 
let message = firstName + 'ALiyah' + lastName + 'FLowers' + role + 'developer' ;

First declare your first and last name variables without parenthesis.

let firstName = "ALiyah";
let lastName = "Flowers";

for your message there are multiple ways of achieving this declaration.

First Way: With string concatenation you need to wrap any text that is not a variable in quotation marks. Your variables will not be wrapped in quotation marks and you need to pay attention to your spaces within this problem.

let msg = firstName + " " + lastName + ": " + role;

Second way: The way that I prefer is to use string templates using the backtick symbol to the left of the 1 on your keyboard and wrapping any variables with ${variableName}

let msg = `${firstName} ${lastName}: ${role}`
