Is the post_type matching the same post type in the admin section? which is work, and is the description argument matching the field name in work post in the admin?

yes and yes. The title is showing up, but the description is not.

Is there actually content in the description field in the admin area? You can also try adding a second quick custom field and testing if that one works.
