Do you become employable after the Wordpress track?

I'm wondering if after you do the wordpress track do you know enough to get hired as a wordpress developer?

I have heard a number of stories from students who have been able to be employed after completing the track. In fact not all of them even finish the track. My guess is there are also many students who have been able to get more and better work who have not shared their stories.

If you complete the track you will have a good technical base, however, the people who really get the good work are those who take what they learn and apply it to other sites, building up their portfolios and showing that they can apply their skills to real world project. So, along with the technical know how you also have to show an employer that you as a student can apply yourself "outside of the classroom." This is what is going to count as your "experience" when you're applying for work as a WordPress dev.

If you approach the track with this approach I believe you will be able to be employable for WordPress development work. That said, the world of WordPress development is a big one, covering a lot of different topics and concentrations. To manage your expectations a bit, don't expect to be a professional plugin developer after the track. However, you could probably work as a junior WP dev doing theme work pretty easily.

It depends on how many posts you make asking the same question, but about different tracks. ;)

Honestly, it's about what you gain and learn from your studies. What I recommend is studying the following tracks, if you want to do WordPress stuff. I would recommend starting with the Web Design track (because there are a lot of basics in that track to build on), then move on to the front-end development track, then the PHP track... then the WordPress track!

Why? Well, first, this path will make your life a lot easier. The way I recommended also allows for you to build onto new skills and strengthen the ones you have. And also make sure to practice in your free time as well. Build a few sites.

Also, I've deleted the same question about the PHP track. It's really just the same question.

Having previous experience of someone paying you to write HTML/CSS (or other code) will certainly help. Or alternatively having previous experience someone paying you to design things.
