dynamic menu highlighting

Hi guys!

Is there a way to highlight with css the current location in nav using strip tags? I was following the video: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/websites/how-to-build-a-wordpress-theme/converting-static-code-into-wordpress-templates/coding-the-header-and-footer-templates but by doing this the class "current-menu-item" doesn't appear anymore.

Any ideas?

Here is some Wordpress documentation that might clarify some issues: http://codex.wordpress.org/Dynamic_Menu_Highlighting
