why is this error occuring

var mergedContent = utilities.merge(emailTemplate, mailValues);

//mergedContent === "Hi Janet! Thanks for completing this code challenge :)";

function mergeValues(content, values) {
  for(var key in values){
    content=content.replace("{{"+ key +"}}",values[key]);
  }



  return content;
}
function merge(templateName,values,response){
var fileContents = fs.readFileSync('./views/' + templateName + '.html',{encoding:"utf8"});
 fileContents=mailValues(values,fileContents)
  reponse.write(fileContents);
}


module.exports.merge = merge;

Two things I can see:

You have a typo at the end of your merge function, you have reponse instead of response.
Your emailTemplate has percentage signs around the variable you want to replace but the mergeValues function will replace anything in between sets of double curly braces.
