Dara,

The formats are:

<!doctype HTML>
<a href = "somelink">Some text</a>

and

<img src = "link-to-an-image" alt = "some alt text">

Hey again Dara,

Kyle already told you one mistake. I'd also like to add, that href is not a tag. It's also an attribute, in this case for the anchor tag. To get to the top of the page you have to give it the value of the id #top in this challenge.

So it should look like this in the end:

    <img src="images/spain.jpg" alt="A picture of me in Spain">
    <p>Here is a picture of me in Spain last summer!</p>
    <a href="#top">Go back to the top of the page.</a>

Here's the mistakes I found, hope it helps!

Should reference the doctype you want to use. A google search for doctype html5 will help you with this one.

<!doctype>

You need to put all your "variables" in quotes. so when you want something to = something - it should be enclosed in ""'s just like your alt attribute is

    <img  src= images/spain.jpg alt="A picture of me in Spain">

a "href" tag is part of the anchor tag <a>. The href part is an attribute to the anchor tag telling it what "hypertext reference" it should be making. It should be included in the same brackets as the <a> as an attribute.

   <href> <a>Go back to the top of the page. </a> top</href>
