Treehouse TeacherHave you tried issuing the command with sudo
in front? Ie sudo git clone https://github.com/laravel/homestead.git
? The fact that you're getting a "Permission denied" error makes me think that the problem lies in the permissions to write a directory to /usr/bin. Note that you will need to be logged into an account on the local system with administrator privileges and put in your password for that account when prompted.

Treehouse TeacherHi there! I believe the problem is a typo on your URL. You've supplied "githup", but you meant "github".
This site is not accessible:
https://githup.com/laravel/homestead.git/
But this site is accessible:
https://github.com/laravel/homestead.git/
Note the change of githup
to github
.
Hope this helps!

Treehouse TeacherThe "local" account is the account on your computer. The one you are currently using. When you sit down at the computer you generally log in with a username and password. This is the "local account" and it must have administrator privileges. Is your account an administrator? What happens when you try the sudo
command?
