This uses a new keyword: "with". This keyword makes it easy to read files. It automatically closes the file.

basics.py

with open("basics.txt") as file_object:
    data = file_object.read()

first = re.match(r"Four", data)

Yes, I know Kenneth like to teach the arduous way first, But the way you do it here is SOOOO much better.
