If you are a Mac user, instal MAMP
If you are a WIndows user, you might choose XAMPP although MAMP on windows is okay as well though i preff XAMPP if id work on windows.
After that, turn on your server.
YOu need to open the Mamp or xamp folder . Look for htdocs Create a shortcut for your desktop and put your folder or work in the htdocs as save it as .php
Hope you get it

Courses Plus Student 40,672 PointsCesar,
Also to add, I use Sublime as my text editor when the teachers here used to use it and never went back. Give it a try. If you want to start to use it in a specific directory, just drag and drop the directory you want to work on into Sublime and it'll allow you to work from there as a project. Also, you can also use WAMP Server as a second option from XAMPP if you are using Windows. Good luck with your coding!
Cheers!

9,636 PointsBrackets is a perfectly good text editor with massive expandability and customizable... but is lightweight. It is also FREE...and put out by ADOBE, meaning that it is well documented, well supported and works nicely with not only any FTP / SFTP tools... but also with Adobe tools.
I highly recommend not going with Atom as I've had stability and security issues with it installed. I say stick with Brackets.

2,435 PointsI dont like brakcets because it gets buggy .
Brandon Gibbs
9,636 PointsAlso... as on Windows, you'll find Wamp Server to be much more stable than Xamp.

9,636 PointsI've used Brackets for more than a year... ZERO bugs. Sounds like a machine error.
Konrad Pilch
2,435 PointsWell, i used it last eyar and there were bugs if you constantly code and delete and stuff.
Maybe they fixed it, if so id look at it again.
I used MAMP on windows xDD

9,636 PointsI'm not 100% sure what version that I came in on, but it sounds like you might have been on a version just before I grabbed a copy. I do nearly all of my work in brackets. If I'm not using brackets, then I'm using DW for projects that DW CC 2015 just makes easier.
I've never installed MAMP on my Windows machine... but I haaaated XAMP and haven't had much cause to veer from WAMP.
I'll have to take a look at this MAMP on Windows idea though.

2,435 PointsFrom my experience , because i came from Mac to windows this summer, i installed MAMP and it worked lol was trying to personalise my grandmother pc into a mac heh but it had Xamp from last year, which i hate as well.. but i preffer WAMP on windows than any other servers. MAMP is my favourite tho , at least on MAC.

2,435 PointsOh i forgot about text editors !
Yeah, sublime text is good. There is also another one for 75 dollars thats looks good , Coda2 . Notepad ++ but i dont recommend it .
And whats the best is to set the theme on dark so you eyes wont get tired and all that.
WAMP is goos as well, i think i actually used WAMP before instead of XAMPP as i liked it more.
YOu can use brackets as well, but i dont reccomend it because its bugged too much, wayyy to much . Although i tested it last year, maybe it improved.
