3,343 Pointshow do i ammend my code to correct it
we need to figure out the tax amount when tax percentage is 7.5 . call the method calculateTaxes on the variable item and assign the result to a new variable named taxes
struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 100
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
// add the calculateTaxes method here
// it should accept only one parameter named 'percentage' of type Double
func calculateTaxes(percentage: Double) -> Double {
return(self.amount * (percentage/100))
}
}
var taxes = Expenses(description: "Tax")
taxes.percentage = 7.5
taxes.calculateTaxes()

Courses Plus Student 26,868 PointsHi, Memory Mungofa , there're several issues here in your code
Create a variable named item and assign it an instance of Expense
On the next line assign the amount property a value of 100.
- variable name should be item, not taxes.
- your Expenses is actually misspelled, it should be Expense.
- there's no need to use the
calculateTaxes
method here.
struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 0.0
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
// add the calculateTaxes method here
// it should accept only one parameter named 'percentage' of type Double
func calculateTaxes(percentage: Double) -> Double {
return(self.amount * (percentage/100))
}
}
var item = Expense(description: "Tax")
item.amount = 100
