how do i change name (joy) in the image tag <img src="joy.jpg"alt="joy"> to sam in the html+ style.css doctype?

This is not related to "doctype", and it looks like you have the right idea but you should add a space between the properties:

    <img src="Sam.jpg" alt="Sam">

Other than that, have you already uploaded a new image file named "Sam.jpg"?

The task just asks to rename the image and alt tag.

You would need to use a lowercase 'S' for the image name as mentioned in the task description.
