28,558 PointsIf you go to the CSS Basics course page you can see how many sections are in the course. "Understanding Values and Units" is the 3rd of 7 sections.
When you'll get to "JavaScript Basics" depends on what track you are on, but if you are following the Front End Web Development track then it's the next course you'll take.
Some basic CSS knowledge is helpful even if you are mainly interested in JavaScript programming, as CSS selectors are quite useful in JavaScript for selecting objects. And beyond that it's something you have to understand if you want to design websites on your own, so it's worth it to keep at it even if you don't find CSS itself very exciting.

231,248 PointsYou can always go back to the course index to check your progress (or to go back and review parts you've already done).
From there you can see that this course has 7 "stages", and you just completed number 3, which means you have 5 more to go. There's a badge for completing each stage.
I'm not sure what you mean by "before JavaScript". There won't be any JavaScript in this course. Are you taking it as part of a track? In that case see the track index.
