How to make a child theme issue..

Hi,

I have watched the video on 'How To Make a Child Theme' followed the instructions and uploaded to the themes folder. When i then go into add the child theme it's not there.

Anyone know what's causing this? It's probably something simple..

Hi Damian,

  • Have you put the the child theme & parent theme name in the style.css file? e.g.

/* Theme Name: Child Theme Name

Template: Parent Theme Name */

(don't forget to put it in comments)

  • Is the parent theme also in the themes folder? It needs to be or it won't work :-)

I didn't have the parent theme name in correctly.
