Hi Ian! Looks like you may have misunderstood what they were asking you to do.

You need to create an unordered list within a navigation element, which you have done correctly. Then, inside the unordered list, you should have 3 list items. The list items are Portfolio, About, and Contact. You kind of have that setup, but you also nested 3 list items within each of the original list items, which is not necessary.

Next, to add the links to each list item, you will need to surround the word to be linked with anchor tags. You will set the href attribute within the anchor tag to equal whatever page you want to link to. For example:

  <a href="index.html">Portfolio</a>
</li>
