how to use float()

I have forgotten how to use this function and cannot find the lesson on it.

trial.py
def add(num1, num2):
    return (float(num1 + num2))

Hi Conner,

First off, the docs are always a good place to look for answers (section on floats can be found here) But to answer your question, you have to convert both values to floats, before adding them together. So instead of doing float(num1 + num2) you'd do float(num1) + float(num2)

Hope this helped,

Regards, Jari
