How up to date is the Wordpress tracks?

I will try to learn Wordpress on Treehouse. A lot of things happens with Wordpress in a short time. How up to date is the Wordpress tracks? Will I learn the latest version of WP?

The track is pretty much up to date. I finished it about two months back and I have no complains. Everything I learned I use on a daily basis.

Treehouse is really good at updating courses. I recommend this track if you want to start building your own themes and really understanding how WP works.

Very, especially given that in 2015 alone, WP was updated no less than 11 times!
One major thing that changes with the big releases is the default theme that different learning materials may profile.

That being said, WordPress is pretty solid in terms of the major organization and framework, so for just learning it in general, the courses are great. It's the new integrations of some bells and whistles which really smooth out the user experience and security measures into core which change more often to keep it fresh. :-)

The hardest part is staying on top of all the new plugins which people build. Each time a client needs a shopping cart, for example, I find there are many more excellent options than ever before. Same with the free theme repository.
