I applied the hide and show method in this challenge adding the class name of the list. But it is not working

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
    <title>Document</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" title="no title" charset="utf-8">
</head>
<body>
    <h2>Star Trek Characters</h2>

    <ul class="character-list">
        <li>Captain Jean Luc Picard</li>
        <li>Data</li>
        <li>Warf</li>
        <li>Dr. Crusher</li>
    </ul>

    <div>I am supposed to stay hidden!</div>

    <script
    src="jquery-3.2.1.min.js"></script>
    <script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
app.js
$("#hide").click(function(){
    $(".character-list").hide();
});

$("#show").click(function(){
    $(".character-list").show();

You need add a button in your html with id = "hide" and "show".

          <button id="hide">Hide</button>

Hi. In your challenge have to use JQuery selectors.

          $( "li:hidden" ).show();

because you need the selector :hidden
