I am stuck
var request = new XMLHttpRequest();
request.onreadystatechange = function () {
if (request.readyState === 4) {
document.getElementById("footer").innerHTML = request.responseText;
}
};
request.open('GET', 'footer.html');
function sendAJAX() {
request.send();
document.getElementById('footer').style.display = "none";
}

</div>
<div id="footer"></div>
</body>

Treehouse Moderator 11,077 PointsIt's because you're not calling your sendAjax()
function. So even though you've written it, by not actually invoking the function you effectively haven't actually added it to your code.
Also why are you creating a function anyway? It's not necessary for this challenge and I wouldn't add the dom manipulation either, as you aren't told to do it? Just so that you are aware, adding more code than is necessary in the challenges, especially code that manipulates the data, can cause challenges to fail. So in the future, do exactly what the challenges tell you to do to avoid confusing results.
