3,616 Pointsmichael edmondson "Compiled" means that you need a compiler to convert your code into a low level "machine" language in order for the computer to understand. An example of a compiled language is C++. Javascript, on the other hand, is a scripting/interpreted language, you don't need to compile it. You just run it using a browser which interprets the code. Compiling is basically just an extra step before you can run your code.
