I typed in the console.printf("First Name: %s", firstName); code but it's saying make sure to call the printf method

That's very odd 🤔

I just copy / pasted the code you've provided above and was able to complete the first 3 steps in this challenge with it, no problems.

The 4th will, of course, require the last line it needs to pass.

I would copy your code you posted above and reload the browser, paste it in and try that challenge again, I'm not sure why it would be giving you any errors if that's exactly what you have typed in on your end.
