I know this isn't the place to ask for authors, but its the only place people will take me seriously. I am looking for authors to write video game guides for my website. This website has been up for a month and a half and I still haven't found a single author. Your help is appreciated. P.S. This is a WordPress website so you'll need a WordPress account to be a author... its free FYI

28,149 PointsI wouldn't be good for this, but maybe I can offer solutions to help you find people.
First, how many articles do you have? One of the hardest part about starting a website like this is bootstrapping most of the content yourself. If there isn't much content already there, most people won't give you a second thought.
What do the author's get in return for their time and energy. This doesn't have to be money. But is it exposure to new readers? Is it recognition in some way, more twitter followers, more youtube subscribers to their channel? Very few of us do anything, just for free. Some people might do something for seemingly free, but it's because they really enjoy it, and that's what they get. I spend an inordinate amount of time on the forums and Slack in web focused channels. What I get is I learn new things trying to help others with their own problems. I don't get money, but I do get something.
Which brings me to the last idea. Where else are you looking for authors? Are you on gaming forums, gaming centered chat apps like Discord, Twitter, Youtube? These are the places you want to hunt for authors, than be ready to explain what they're going to get out of writing for you, and than have a site that already has a few high quality guides. Favor quality over quantity. 2-4 high quality guides would be a good start, if you have to write them.
