1,342 PointsIn python 3, you no longer need to write range in order to get range?
To get a random number between (0, len(x)-1) you don't need to use range? Why or why not.
# EXAMPLE
# random_item("Treehouse")
# The randomly selected number is 4.
# The return value would be "h"
import random
def random_item(x):
number = random.randint[range(0,len(x)-1]
return x[number]

231,271 PointsThe random.randint function takes two arguments, the lower limit and the upper limit. Those two values define the "range" that the random number will be in. It doesn't use an actual range sequence type.
As far as I can tell, this calling signature is unchanged since Python 2.
