__init__ help

Hey - so fairly confused about the init method. It says it runs automatically without having to be called. Exactly how is it initializing the class? Confused about what that means.

Also, how do we know what arguments to put into init? Does this mean any attributes inside init will override the class attributes and then carry over into every other method?

I know , lets confuse the life out of everyone and introduce init , setattr within a minute of each other and not explain them throughly. ! And why not bring in **kwargs which noone understood from collections as well to really throw them off continuing with the course! So confused and I was going so well! One step forward and two steps back!
