Python Introducing Lists Using Lists Continental

introducing lists

i'd like you to now only print continents that begin with the letter"A"

Remember that you can access characters in a string by index

continents = [ 'Asia', 'South America', 'North America', 'Africa', 'Europe', 'Antarctica', 'Australia', ] print("continents:") for continent in continents: print("*", continent)

continents.py
continents = [
    'Asia',
    'South America',
    'North America',
    'Africa',
    'Europe',
    'Antarctica',
    'Australia',
]
print("continents:")
for continent in continents:
    print("*", continent)

You can add an "if" statement to control the "print", and compare the first character of "continent" to the letter "A". The intstructions already gave the hint "Remember that you can access characters in a string by index", and an index is a value inside brackets placed after a variable name.
