Is deleting unused template files, like archives.php or category.php, a security issue?

I am unsure. In the present wp project i am working on a few "standard" template files either aren't used or i rebuilt them in a custom way under a different name. i wonder if it would be a security issue to delete unused files like seach.php, archives.php, pages.phpor category.php? Via the regular frontend aka via the browser the visitor isn't able to reach and see any of those pages. Best regards Ralf

I've been using Wordpress for a few years and as far as i know, there are no security concerns deleting unused files such as these since they're only called when needed and if you don't need them, they're not utilised and are not utilised in any sort of security protocols that Wordpress have in place.

thanks!
