did i do this wrong?

8,772 PointsCapitalization might be an issue, but you need to wrap your <a> tags around 'Portfolio', 'About', and 'Contact', like this:
<a href="index.html">Portfolio</a>
Your syntax is correct, but the position of your </a> tag is off.
