Java Java Basics Perfecting the Prototype Looping until the value passes

Java basics

I can't find the error in my code. I googled the 2 error codes and still don't see it.

Example.java
// I have initialized a java.io.Console for you. It is in a variable named console.
String response = console.readLine("Do you understand do while loops?");

do{
  boolean noAnswer = response.equalsIgnoreCase("no");
  if (noAnswer){
  console.printf(response);
  }

} while(noAnswer);

Hello mate,

The conditional expression of the do-while statement does not have access to variables declared within the statement's body. When a variable is declared within the body of a do-while statement, it's scope (its visibility to the rest of your code) is limited to the body only.

Hope this helps

I tried this no error code and not passing

String response = console.readLine("Do you understand do while loops?");

do {

if (response.equalsIgnoreCase("no")) {
console.printf("You have selected no");

} } while(response.equalsIgnoreCase("no"));

That won't work because you are comparing a String with a method passing a string and you can't compare types that are incompatible with the .equalsIgnorCase() method.

... // I have initialized a java.io.Console for you. It is in a variable named console. String response = "Do you understand do while loops?";

boolean noAnswer = response.equalsIgnoreCase("no");

do{
if (noAnswer){ console.printf(response); }

} while(noAnswer); ...

try this
