Markdown Links: [Treehouse][5] -> [5]https:teamtreehouse.com?

I think they forgot the colon between "[5]" and "http:team.."?

This way the markdown doesn't work in any flavor: 

[Treehouse][5]

[5]https:teamtreehouse.com

The proper syntax is:

[example link](http://example.com/)

Good point. I don't think the URL will work without the //'s, either.

You might want to submit this as a bug to Support, and there's also a "Report Question" option in the lower right on the question itself.
