Multiple Loops in One Page

I've watched the videos on how to get multiple loops running on a page multiple times... Zac keeps talking about using wp_reset_postdata to reset the query. This function is mentioned in multiple videos, but isn't actually used in any video. Am I to assume I can just pop it in anywhere? I'm working on a project currently, that requires I have multiple loops on one page. I've used this function, and my entire site breaks every time I add a second loop. Help!
