My domain management has no Name Server option only Email and Edit DNS. Why is this?

When I log into my wordpress.com admin area, and go to store > My Domains > then edit the domain, the only 2 options I have are email and DNS there is no Name Servers option. Anyone know why?

Angus,

This may help:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

However, in some cases, this option may not be available. For example, if you just registered your domain, you won’t be able to transfer it for 60 days. Also, some hosts simply don’t support domain registration transfers.

If not . . .

Questions

  • Did you buy the name through wordpress.com?
  • Who is current registrar?
  • Where do current name servers point?

WordPress.com has great support so you should be able to contact them directly for assistance if you're still having trouble.

Oh and DNS stands for domain name server so Name Server may be the same thing.
