<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Chris Borchardt | Designer</title> </head> <body> <header> <a href = "index.html> <h1>Chris Borchardt</h1> <h2>Designer</h2> </a> <nav> <ul> <li>Portfolio</li> <li>About</li> <li>Contact</li> </ul> </nav> </header> <section> <p>Gallery will go here</p> </section> <footer> <p>© 2016 Chris Borchardt.</p> </footer>

thank you, i missed that one.

Were you able to make your page work and was that your full code? I don't see the !DOCTYPE, html, and head tags, so I was wondering if that was what broke it.

yes, i was able to get it to work with the missing ", I am not sure why it cut out the rest of my code, in my workspace i clearly see the !DOCTYPE, html, and head tags. and i had the entire thing highlighted before i copied it.

For sure, good to hear!
