JavaScript AJAX Basics Programming AJAX Processing JSON Data

Need a 2nd pair of eyes. Widget doesn't appear. No errors on console. Better picture of code included.

var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.onreadystatechange = function () {
  if(xhr.readyState ===4){
    var employees = JSON.parse(xhr.responseText);
    var statusHTML = '<ul class = "bulleted">';
    for(var i= 0; i < employees.length; i++){
      if(employees[i].inoffice === true){
        statusHTML += '<li class = "in">';
      }else{
        statusHTML += '<li class = "out">';
      }
      statusHTML += employees[i].name;
      statusHTML += '</li>';
    }
    statusHTML +='</ul>';
    document.getElementById("employeeList").innerHTML = statusHTML;
  }
};

xhr.open("GET", "data/employees.json");
xhr.send();

Hey Kylie Soderblom were you able to resolve this? Could you provide a snapshot of your workspace if not ?

Nope. still stuck.

Kylie Soderblom Can you try it in a different browser? I'm seeing the widget appear when I add your code to the project. Did you change the HTML file at all?

Not sure why it didn't want to work. The following exercise works. Thanks for taking the time.

I tested your code in the Treehouse workspace and it seems to work just fine

Hey Kylie,

Try using template literals (``) instead of single quotes (') for the HTML. It worked for me
