231,248 PointsHi, I got your request.
Security is more about application than language, so there's not really any particular language that is "best" to learn for security. So you could probably start with any language that is commonly used, particularly for server-side functionality. Check any of the many "most popular language" rankings available online.
The Security topic area is new at Treehouse, and while I expect there will be many courses coming in the future you may need to rely on other resources for learning today. You might consider what your specific goals are in making your choice. Are you looking for a degree? A certification? A portfolio of accomplishments? Also, what timeframe and budget will you be investing in your learning?
A few online resources you might start with are:
- InfoSec Introduction to IT Security & Computer Forensics
- Canvas Network Introduction to Cybersecurity
- EH Academy The complete Cyber-Security Course
- LEAP Cyber Security 101
- Future Learn Introduction to Cyber-Security
With a little searching, you can find many more.
