No more Wordpress Courses?

So I heard that after the end of 2015 there would be no more new Wordpress courses produced by Treehouse. Is this true? Considering the new changes that are happening with Wordpress codebase becoming Javascript and Node based, it seems like new training material would be needed.

Maybe Zac Gordon can help help quash that rumour one way or the other but I cannot believe that is the case. Wordpress is constantly evolving.

I have noticed that there has been a lot of courses produced in the last couple of years with 3 more still to come. Maybe Zac is moving on next year but Treehouse will surely hire another teacher if that is the case.

The reason I asked this is because Zac stated it on this web page (bottom paragraph): http://wpdevcasts.com

Well I would be very sad if it's true that there will be no more Wordpress courses after this year. I've really enjoyed learning more about Wordpress in the last few months and the teacher's enthusiasm for his subject shines through.

I wouldn't go so far as to say there's nothing more to learn on Wordpress but if looks like Zac is leaving is with as much up to date content on Wordpress before he goes...if indeed he is going.

A revamped Wordpress Basics course... The Wordpress Admin area.... Managing Users... Practice with themes and plugins. There will be plenty of Wordpress presence on Treehouse for some to come. :-)

With the advent of the new WordPress REST API, and the promise of a whole slew of new and different incarnations for applications built on top of WordPress, this seems like a "boneheaded" (and somewhat elitist) move sure to turn off many a fledgling wordpress developer. Especially considering the fact that WordPress powers about 25% of all websites, this seems a bizarre move. But hey, maybe they just dont like money, eh? I will now have to seriously consider whether to continue my subscription.

....sincerely, Disappointed
