They are looking for something like this:

contact_list = [ {"name" => "Jason", "phone_number" => "123"}, {"name" => "Nick", "phone_number" => "456"} ]

contact_list.each do |item| puts item["name"] puts item["phone_number"] end

Hi, it seems you were iterating over an element.

contact_list = [
  {"name" => "Jason", "phone_number" => "123"},
  {"name" => "Nick", "phone_number" => "456"}
]
contact_list.each do |contact|
  puts "Name: #{contact["name"]}"
    contact.each do |phone_number|      # <------------
      puts "Phone: #{phone_number}"
    end
end

and if was not necessary
