Owning a WordPress Site Long Term, Question 4 of 5

The question is "If you want to add new features to your site, you can always find and setup a plugin on your own without having to hire a developer."

Supposedly, the correct answer is False.

What? I don't have a question, but I thought i would just leave this link for Zac:

The answer to the question is yes. The test may say something different--haven't taken it yet. You SHOULD be able to do it yourself, but unless you know PHP really well to go under the hood, you're best off looking for your own plugin. Wordpress is like Android; there are tons of totally cool, free features and plugins available, but you have to find your own documentation and wade through a mountain of crap for that special feature.

I have no shame in asking a peer or my wordpress prof [it's a requirement for my program at a community college] for advice or a better solution. Good ideas, wherever they come from, are fit for public consumption. "Can always" is a tricky phrase....assuming your time frame is infinite, then yes, you could. But practically? Not so much.

If 'false' is the correct answer, then one would assume the 'true' answer is: If you want to add new features to your site, you CAN'T always find and setup a plugin on your own without having to hire a developer.

This is false....the purpose of wordpress and CMS systems is to make it easier to do everyday tasks like add a blog post or something. Your link is a good one and I hope the staff notice it. I feel like that is an opinion question more than a real question; I've noticed the design track is pretty guilty of this as well.

Props, hombre. Like what I have to say? Give me the upvote or best answer. Graci
